TB4 is widely studied as a G-actin–sequestering peptide that shifts the G-actin/F-actin balance, influencing how cells move, attach, and remodel tissue scaffolding. Mechanistic work links TB4 to angiogenic migration behaviors, and to signaling nodes including integrin-linked kinase (ILK) and inflammatory pathway regulation (e.g., NF-κB in defined cell systems). The well-known actin-binding active motif LKKTETQ is a major functional site studied in TB4 biology.
